Project Overview

As part of our final year exhibition, each student was tasked with developing a unique visual concept for the event, along with promotional assets including a website (incl. header and background), animated teaser, event invitation, and poster. My concept, Threshold, was shortlisted for final selection and showcased a playful yet professional identity designed to celebrate the of our graduating class.

  • Create a cohesive visual identity for the RMIT graduate exhibition that appeals to industry professionals, friends, and family.

  • Threshold draws on both a design technique and a symbolic transition. In Photoshop, the threshold adjustment creates bold, high-contrast effects — a fitting metaphor for the shift students face moving from university to industry. The word itself also signifies a point of entry, suggestive of new beginnings.

This dual meaning informed an expressive visual identity that combined high-contrast, duotone treatments with symbolic elements, such as hands representing a once-unified cohort now branching out on individual paths. Each asset was designed to function independently while remaining visually connected to the broader campaign, striking a balance between fun and sophistication to reflect both our creative spirit and professional readiness.
