Project Overview

Rally Around Victoria is a premium motoring event developed by Variety – the Children’s Charity as a shorter, more luxurious alternative to their traditional road trips, launched in response to pandemic-era border restrictions. I was responsible for the event’s visual identity and design collateral, working with tight timelines and limited resources.

My work included designing the event logo in alignment with Variety’s broader motoring brand, along with a full suite of digital and print materials — from promotional assets like social media graphics, flyers and banners, to entrant resources including door panel stickers and a custom-designed event magazine containing detailed route notes.

Now in its fourth year, Rally Around Victoria has grown into a highly anticipated part of Variety’s calendar, and I continue to support its evolution with ongoing design work.

RAVazine Event Guide

The RAVazine is a comprehensive entrant guide designed to support participants throughout the event, with a focus on clear, well-structured route notes. Supplied with raw route data and scouting notes written in navigational shorthand, I was responsible for interpreting, editing, and formatting the content into a clear and user-friendly publication.

Key design considerations included typographic hierarchy, clear iconography for key amenities (e.g. fuel stops and toilets), and the integration of an interactive on-the-road quiz to boost engagement. The result is a practical yet playful document that enhances the driver experience while aligning with the event’s identity.
